premier running event in Franklin County that has grown to over 1000 participants.
Help us make 2009 our largest Black Cat Chase ever and
invite your friends and family to participate in this great event!
New for 2009 -
Electronic Chip Timing!
The
Black Cat Chase will be using the Chronotrack electronic timing system this year
for faster and more accurate results. The specialized disposable D-Tag
will be attached to each participants shoe and will allow for better flow at
the finish line and quick posting of the results. Click here for more

Black Cat Chase
information:
- Race
Day registration will begin at 5:30pm on the Old State Capital Lawn
- Early
registrants can pick up their race packets at the Downtown YMCA on
Thursday, October 29 from 8am-6pm and Friday, October 30 from 8am-4pm.
- The
first 100 registrants will receive a 2009 Special Edition Black Cat Chase
Long Sleeve Performance T-shirt and all participants will receive a Black Cat Chase long sleeve
t-shirt.
- Gift
Certificates for the overall winners will be donated by Cool Comfort Body
& Sole. $100 for the overall winner, $75 for the runner up
and $50 for third place in both the male and female categories.
- Gift
Certificates from Cool Comfort Body & Sole for our new race
categories:
Middle of the
Pack Award - for the participant who finishes exactly in
the middle of the race!
Stroller Award
- for the participant that finishes first pushing a
stroller with a child riding along.
Caboose Award
- for the participant that finishes just ahead of the police car!
- Awards
will be given to the tip three overall male and female participants, the
top three participants in each age group, and the top three teams (minimum
of 5 runners per team).
- The
Black Cat Chase will the second race in the USATF Kentucky Association 5K
running series. The top finishing USATF members will be eligible to
win the following cash prizes:
Open Men and Open Women - 1st = $150, 2nd = $75, 3rd = $25
Master's Men and Women - 1st = $75, 2nd - $50, 3rd = $25
- Same

- Race
proceeds will benefit the Frankfort YMCA 2009 Annual Strong Kids Campaign!
- Run
and train with other participants at our weekly group runs starting in
September.
- Post
race raffle with lots of prizes from local businesses!
- Music
provided by Star 103.7 from 6-8pm!
